Truer words have not been spoken - -

"The capacity to be alone is the capacity to love. It may look paradoxical to you, but it's not. It is an existential truth: only those people who are capable of being alone are capable of love, of sharing, of going into the deepest core of another person—without possessing the other, without becoming dependent on the other, without reducing the other to a thing, and without becoming addicted to the other. They allow the other absolute freedom, because they know that if the other leaves, they will be as happy as they are now. Their happiness cannot be taken by the other, because it is not given by the other."

So important to me & what I hope for my friends and family.

oh my...

Saw this picture on Pinterest today. Right away those sounds entered my mind. You know what I'm talking about right? The sound of the water hitting the dock or the boats that are tied up against the dock. Being bare foot and enjoying the warmth of the sun with a fishing rod in the water. The smell of the warmth of the dock and the mountain breeze? Sunglasses and sun tan lotion?

...Is winter over yet?

"We should open a tackle shop..."

This weekend was a lot of fun!
Friday night Ryan and I went to our friend's, Mike and Jill's, house where we ate a delicious dinner, drank wine, and played games. It was super fun to hangout with those guys cause we hardly ever get to see them anymore. Made lots of fishing plans with them that I hope work out!

Saturday Ryan and I had a pretty lazy morning. We stayed in bed till about 10 am watching TV, which was glorious as I never usually get to stay in bed that long. Then we made pancakes and coffee and got ready for lunch with his momma.
After lunch we went back home and had a nap haha. Then we got ready for our dinner with our old army and navy friends. It was really nice catching up with a lot of them. I love the job I have now and wouldn't trade it for anything. But, I really miss working with and laughing with all those awesome people. Everyone seems to be doing really well which is fantastic :)

Sunday morning Ryan and I actually got up super early and decided to get breakfast with a nice long drive in between. After breakfast we decided to tackle....the fishing closet :[
Over the last little while, whenever we needed something or brought something home, we would just sort of shove it where we could find room. It had turned into a disaster so quickly.
We began by taking everything out of the closet and putting it into categories. Which actually turned into a lot of fun. We ended up making boxes prepared for our Granisle trip this year and found lots of cool stuff we wanna try out.
When we finished it was SO nice to see how it turned out. Everything fit perfectly and the rods are all untangled and organized and ready to grab and go the next time we wanna go fishing.

After we were finished we went for another drive which turned into going for a nice stroll in Glenn Valley. The fog was rolling in as were walking which made for some pretty sights. Once we got home we made a delicious dinner of Halibut, potatoes, and salad.

Now it is Monday yet again and I am at work. Once I'm done I plan to go shopping with Ryan at Costco and hangout since he has to leave for Chicago this week.

Also, there is a beautiful sunrise happening right now! I love my life and the beautiful place that I get to call home.

Truth - -

So, yesterday my mom calls me at work and is SUPER excited to tell me about a show that was on TV later that day. It was a short documentary called 'Return to the Wild.'
It was about Christopher McCandless. His parents and three sisters talked about Chris's childhood and their life growing up and it showed them going to the 'Magic Bus' for the first time since Chris's death. They even interviewed some of the people Chris had met along the way! It was so cool to see them in real life and hear what they had to say. Let's just say I needed some kleenex throughout.
I loved the movie 'Into the Wild' and the book that Carine McCandless wrote last year, 'The Wild Truth.' If you haven't seen the movie or read any of the books I highly suggest that you do.

Fiiiiiiiiiiish

Eeeeeeeeeeeee! Ryan just sent me a picture of a shopping bag full of pink lures!!
You know what that means?!?! That means Pinks season is almost upon us!! I am so excited!

Okay, well, not till about late August, but still, if your going to fish for Pinks then you need to buy all the stuff early in the year cause it sells out so quickly. Plus Pinks only come through every two years! That's why it's so exciting :)

New Hair Monday

Okay, so I don't exactly have NEW hair, but I did get my hair coloured this morning and got a trim. I'm trying to grow my hair long again! But the colour turned out just as I wanted it. An almost purple/red. It's very red in the sunshine yet almost a dark purple/red inside. I love it. My hairdresser always does such a great job.

I finally got my ring back! They said it may take up to three weeks which was a bummer to hear but I got it back in under two weeks! Super cool. I also finished a 1000 piece puzzle that I've been working on since holidays. I forgot how much I love doing them! Just putting in the headphones with your cup of tea and working on it is super relaxing. I need to find another one!

Ryan and I went on some cool walks over the past week. Yesterday we went to Houston Trail at Derby Reach and took all the back trails that ran through the center of the park. It was a lot of fun and we even let Kobe off leash and would run all over the place and have him try to find each of us. It was super entertaining and a great way to spend a Sunday.
I did a little dog sitting over the weekend with our client, Kiltie. He's the sweetest little guy ever.
And then I also get Tucker this week for one night and Jackson next week! I'm super pumped!

excitment!

Even though I had to wear gloves this morning and two jackets to stay warm, I'm still so excited for Spring and Summer! Talking to Ryan and friends about all the plans we want to make and are making are getting me so pumped! I'm especially excited for the fishing trips. We hope to do Gransile again and just the thought of catching those big beautiful trout again make me want to buy a time machine so I can jump forward to it!! I just want to be near water as much as I can this year :)))

2015 ?!

Whoa, I cannot believe it's 2015 already! I apologize for the long post this will probably be as well as all the pictures. There's just so many!

The 10th annual cookie day was a huge success! We had an absolute blast and the cookies turned out amazing. Also, I have some of the best friends in the entire world. Kelsey got both Brittany and I these cute cookie tins which she decorated all fancy. Because, apparently on the 10 year anniversary of something, the traditional gift to give is tin! So adorable. Brittany got me "piggy bank". It's pretty much a tin that you can only open with a can opener so once your money goes in, there's no getting it out. But the best part is that she decorated the outside all London themed :)
I love these girls <3

Christmas Eve was a great day as well. Ryan and I went to dinner at Olive Garden with his Dad's side of the family. It was really nice to see them and catch up. We then went back to my parents house and hungout and watched a Christmas movie and had some hot chocolate. Felt really weird not spending the night at home for the first time!

Christmas Day <3 It was a glorious one. I woke up super early and drove home as my family does Christmas morning very early in the am and Ryan likes to sleep in haha. So it worked out perfectly. My family and I opened all our presents and had a delicious breakfast. Then it was back to Fort Langley where Ryan and I opened our gifts together. He was so excited about the Keurig machine I got him that he put it together right away so that he could have a coffee haha. Now, I know Christmas "does not come from a store" but, Ryan did really good this year haha. He got me a painting of London that I hung up RIGHT away because it was so bloody beautiful and a cute London pillow case. Once we were done with the gifts, we sat down and cuddled until Ryan pretended to see a gift that was hidden under the chair beside the tree. It was a beautiful promise ring!! I didn't think he would get me one but he did. And I love it. I'm just in love with it. I've never had a boyfriend get me jewelry before. Sadly it was too small so I had to take it in to be re-sized and the lady told me it would take up to three weeks! THREE WEEKS! Geesh. Oh well, we are almost 2 weeks down so fingers crossed I get it back soon!
The rest of the afternoon was spent with Ryan's mom and having lunch with her. We took her back home and headed back to my parents for Christmas Dinner. The evening was full of laughs and just great times.

The next couple days were for relaxing. Ryan and I went for a hike/fishing day up in Harrison on Boxing Day. No fish but it was still nice to be out. The whole area we explored we only saw one other couple. At one point Ryan told me to stop walking and just listen. The silence was indescribable.

Later that afternoon on our way back we stopped at another area to fish and found these old buildings. They were super creepy! But the spot on the water looked like it would be a beautiful one on a sunny day! So...we decided to come back another time haha.

I had Shadow sleep over a couple nights over the holiday so that he and Kobe could have some play time. One morning when I took them out to pee the sun was just rising and down the road near the river looked just beautiful. So I put on some warmer clothes and took the dogs for a nice stroll. Everyone with their dog was out and about. It was so nice, the town shops and restaurants were still closed so the town was nice and quiet. Good lord I love this little town I live in.

New Year's Eve was a fun day. Ryan and I had our parents over for dinner. We cooked them a delicious salmon dinner and drank wine. Chatted and watched a movie. It was the first time we had had my parents over for a dinner. It went very well. The rest of the night we cuddled and Ryan had to wake me up 10 minutes before midnight because I passed out haha.

January 1st, Ryan and I spent the day outside. We said that we wanted to try to be outside more this year and so far we've been really good! I know it's only 5 days into the new year but 4 of those days we spent fishing and doing small hikes. We explored this one area on Saturday and found this beautiful waterfall and a creepy dark cave beside it! So cool.

First day back to work today and it feels good in a way. Here's to 2015! I've decided I want to start scrapbooking again. I'm super excited! I plan to scrap book all the times I go somewhere new this year. Fishing or Hiking. Plus Christina and I found some wicked stickers for it while we were at the Dollar Store when we went to go see Wild. - Which was an awesome movie by the way. Book was far better but the movie is still something you should go see.
