"These marshmellows are making me thirsty"

Well we did it again!
Blue Lake is definitely a place that we will keep going back to. We had such an amazing time yet again and the weather was just fabulous for us.
We caught lots of fish and hiked the beautiful trail and relaxed in the hot tub.
We brought Kobe with us which we weren't too sure about, but he did absolutely wonderful.
Mark and Julie joined us Saturday. We all made one of the best dinners I have ever tasted in a long time. Salmon and potatoes done on the BBQ with a delicious side salad and some yummy wine that Julie brought for us.
We didn't want to leave!

Sunday morning Ryan and I woke up early before Mark and Julie were awake and went out on the boat alone together with Kobe. It was still covered in fog but as the sun came up over the mountain and started to burn the fog away, it was so nice. It was so quiet and peaceful. Plus we caught lots of fish that morning to!

Mark and Julie ended up joining us on Sunday for fishing the Nahatlatch. I forgot how long it takes to get there. You have to drive on this super bumpy logging road for about an hour! But it takes you to such a beautiful hidden spot. The river is just glorious and the fish are awesome!! I caught one of my biggest trouts for that river yet and we even saw some salmon come through. We tried with all our might to catch one but without the proper gear, as we weren't expecting it, we sadly weren't able to pull one in. But still super fun.

Can't wait for the next time we go up there.
It's raining today and for the first time, it really feels as though fall is here. But I'm okay with that, I feel that I got so much out of my summer and did so many awesome things that I'm so pumped for fall activities! Salmon fishing, pumpkin things, halloween, all the pretty colors. It's gonna be great.
This Friday is my friend Kelsey's birthday at the Henry, so I'm pretty excited for that as well :)

Thirsty Thursday

This week is going pretty good so far. It's raining today which isn't the worst thing in the world. Everything has been looking so dry lately I think it needs a drink of water!
I had to post these pictures of my text with some of the people that I love haha. They just made me laugh! Brittany clearly has so much faith in both of us.
And the one from Ryan and I ... pretty much describes us. I love us <3 haha

This weekend I start house sitting/dog sitting for my boss. I love their house and I'm actually looking forward to spending some time with the Goldens. Then next weekend it's off to Blue Lake for our second time this year! I'm so excited. I don't even care if it's nice weather or not. The cabin is so beautiful and we get our own dock and hot tub! I bet it will be super cozy when it rains up there. Mark and Julie may even come up for one night! Which would be awesome.

Also something amazing that happened yesterday. I found out that Ryan sells a bunch of the River's edge merchandise. I'm talking about all the cool cabin looking stuff that I find on pinterest all the time. Like, the bear holding the toilet paper stand or the fishing rod lamp. So, we are going to go crazy and get a bunch of it once he gets the list of the stuff he can buy. Our little apartment is going to look like it belongs in the middle of the woods of somewhere. I'M SO EXCITED. ( Yes, I realize how lame I sound. ) Haha

Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?

"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism - -

- - all of which may appear to give one piece of mind; but in reality, nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future."
-Christopher McCandless (Into the Wild)

It breaks my heart to know that there are people out there living an unhappy life just because they are too afraid to leave what they know. They are too afraid of losing what they think is their world. Or even worse, they have convinced themselves that they 'are happy' or that 'this is what I want'. When really, it's not what they want. They're afraid to admit it.
It's so sad.
Get out there.
Live your life.
You only have one go at it.
Do you really want it to be something you end up wishing it wasn't?

- - You are responsible for your own happiness * *

This weekend was another great one.
On saturday I went back to the Golden Ears trail with my mom and dad and a bunch of pups. We had a great time and spent the rest of the day after our walk driving around fort langley and grabbing sushi for lunch.

Later that night Ryan and I had Julie and Mark over for dinner. Ryan and Mark had been playing paintball earlier in the day and were hungry for a home cooked meal. So the boys made a delicious salmon dinner and Julie and I drank wine and chatted about nonsense. ALSO, we finally had our first big dinner at our fancy dinner table. It was so nice. We ended the night with menchies which is delicious the 2nd time in a row haha.

Sunday morning I had breakfast with my bestie and our boss. It was quick but it was delicious. I'm always happy when I get my stuffed hashbrowns.
After breakfast I went and hungout with my momma for a bit and then headed back to the apartment with booster juice for me and Ryan as he wasn't feeling very well this morning. He finally got out of bed and we watched Grey's Anatomy for awhile. Must admit, we were pretty lazy until about 3pm. We went for a walk around town and grabbed a menu from the new sushi place and decided to give it a try. It was pretty good.
We then went for a drive around Glenn Valley and ended up down on River Rd and decided to go for a quick walk. It was a beautiful afternoon, the late afternoon shining on the red and yellow leaves and the fraser river looking gorgeous. I love where I live.
