Shopping and Dogs...lots of dogs

Another weekend come and gone. Seriously, where does the time go? We're already half way through March! So crazy.
I'm currently house sitting for my boss and his FOUR dogs and TWO cats. Not to mention occasionally my own dog, so, SEVEN animals. Haha. It's not as bad as I thought it might be. It's actually going super smooth. I love staying at their house. They have a beautiful home and a nice big backyard. I'm done sitting this Saturday so I'm sure it will be over before I know it.
On Saturday I had breakfast with my parents and picked up my family dog Shadow and brought him to the house I'm sitting. It turned out to be not such a horrible day and we got to play outside for most of it. Ryan came over around dinner time and I made us my quesedillas with my home made salsa for dinner. It was SO YUMMY. We played a ton of Nintendo, which was amazing. Brought back so many memories.
Sunday was a lazy day for the most part. All morning and afternoon I hungout on the couch haha. Cuddled with the dogs, watched Teen Mom, and drank tons of Tea haha. I loved it.
Around 3 in the afternoon Tina picked me up and we went shopping at Guildford Mall. I found too many things I liked and bought them all. But...I definitely needed 3 more cardigans right? Yes, I did! It was a super fun afternoon with my bestie :)
That night Ryan joined me again and spent the night.
This morning I dropped the dogs off at daycare and drove to Fort Langley with my momma and Shadow for a nice walk in Glenn Valley (One of my favourite places, I want to live out there one day). We walked along the dyke and it was gorgeous.
Now I'm at work and I'm excited to go 'home' with the pups to relax before yet another day of work tomorrow :)

Izzy Bear

I love my job. - Not many people can say that. I am so thankful everyday that I get to go work in a place that not only makes me smile everyday but teaches me so many values of life and love.

Today, one of my favorite clients gave her pup, Izzy, to another family in Alberta. It was for the best since her lifestyle was not one that fit what Izzy needed too well.
She came over to the daycare to let us know that Izzy was leaving tonight and to thank us for all the hard work we put into our jobs.
It was very hard to see her so upset. I began to imagine what it would be like to have to give up one of my pets and the tears began to flow. We hugged and she promised to keep in touch and come visit.

I'm very happy for Izzy. I hope her new life is nothing short of amazing. I will sure miss having her around the daycare <3

"Chasing material things will not make you happy"

This weekend was absolutely FABULOUS.

Friday night was super cool as Ryan took me out to 1827 to get rid of some of the stress that I picked up from my shift earlier that day. We ate delicious food and talked into the night.

Saturday morning I woke up early and did some yoga. I then met up with Brittany and Kelsey and we headed to the She Talks convention in Surrey.

I was blown away. Such an amazing experience. Full of laughter and tears. It felt very special to get to be a part of the first ever She Talks event as well. One of the women that stuck with me a lot was a lady named Tetyana Golota. She was the most cutest thing ever. She had us laughing and smiling while telling us her journey to achieve what she thought she wanted in life. 'A big house, a husband, a nice car, kids, a good paying job, the works!' until she found herself one day being diagnosed with depression, anxiety, a whole bunch of other problems, to top it off? A brain tumor. It was removed and she made it - obviously. While making us laugh by saying that she played a joke on her husband by saying "who are you?" as she woke up from the operation. She said that she made a promise to promise to herself while she was in the hospital. She would quit her job and start doing the things that she wanted. She ended by saying "...I didn't find happiness in those material things (not that there's anything wrong with them) Chasing those material things will not make you happy, you must do the things that will truly make you happy as that is how to get the best out of life." Her story had me crying the most I think.
Then there was Monika Hibbs. Who spent most of her life going to school to be a doctor. She soon realized that spending most of her life in a hospital was not the life she wanted. She quit her job and now spends her time doing photography :)

I could go on forever talking about all the women's' speeches as they were all so awesome. But I highly suggest you check them out for yourself! They will be posted online just like Ted Talks :) You can see all the amazing women on this site here :

or learn more about what the whole event was here :

I know I will definitely be going back to the next She Talks!

After the event, it was about 4:30pm. The girls and I had planned to do a bunch of stuff earlier on but since the show ran later than we had anticipated we decided to just do dinner. We went to Original Joe's in Cloverdale and talked about the amazing thing we had just witnessed! lol. By the time I got home it was 7:30pm. I don't know why, but I just felt EXHAUSTED. Maybe it was the day before catching up with me? Or the big day at the talks. Whatever it was sent me to bed at 9pm haha.

Sunday morning I woke up with a text from Mark and Julie inviting Ryan and I to go hiking. As Ryan had to work the Tradex show he was unable to attend. But I was super into it! We decided to go to Lindeman again. It was such a beautiful day for it. Also, being quite proud of myself, last time I went I had to take three breaks. This time (while carrying my big backpack) I didn't have to stop once! I still felt like dying but it was awesome haha. We ate lunch on the other side of the lake while soaking up the sun before heading back down. We talked about stopping to see Cascade falls on the way back but decided to save that for another time.

Later that evening Ryan and I took Kobe to the river to enjoy the last little bit of sunshine. We then met my brother and my mom at Maru sushi for din din. So yummy.

After a few episodes of True Blood after dinner I went to bed as I had to get up early for work this morning. I'm feeling a little sore from the hike yesterday and was hoping to go for a run this afternoon. Looks like it will be my yoga routine for sore muscles (while watching True Blood haha)

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

feeling thankful for the life I live today

"There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur
when you strip down and are honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl know that she inspires you.
Tell your mother you love her in front of your friends.
Express, express, express
.
Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who, and how, you love.
There is courage in that. "

yoga mats and country dancing

What a beautiful day!!

The sun is shining and it's a brand new day.
This past weekend was a lot of fun!

Kelsey came and visited me during the day on Friday, so that was fun! Then after work I had a few errands to run, I also went shopping for new clothes and spoiled myself a bit. That evening was pretty lazy which I was super okay with since I was very tired from the work week. Christina and I are short our third person. We used to do this job by ourselves all the time but you get used to that third person!

Saturday morning I woke up and did my yoga right away as the sun made me feel like I had to! Jackson felt like he needed to be involved which had me giggling quite a bit.
After yoga I met up with my friends Beth and Benny at Derby Reach dog park. The dogs ran around like crazy while Benny threw the ball for them and Beth and I soaked up the sun. It was a beautiful day. Derby reach is by far my favorite dog park. Always such nice people there.

After the dog park I went and picked up Ryan and we went and grabbed lunch and had a picnic in Williams Park with the pups.

Then it was time to head back as I had to get ready for my friend's birthday party at Gabby's. I had a blast! It was super cool catching up and partying with people that I don't get to see very often. It was especially cool getting to see my old High School friend for the first time in over 5 years!

Sunday was...well...pretty much a hangover day haha. I got to watch a ton of True Blood (which I've only just recently started watching and I'm already on Season 2, it's so good!) which was awesome. I napped a little and ate a lot of food haha.
Jackson was picked up last night by his parents, I had him for about 2 weeks and I actually miss him a lot! I don't get him again till May which makes me sad haha. At least I get to see him twice during the week at work :)

Not much is planned for today except a couple dog walks. But it's a beautiful day for it so I'm not complaining!
