Yesterday was Ryan and I's 3 year anniversary.
3 years. THREE YEARS. I can't believe it. It feels like just yesterday I was so nervous for our first date.
I love him so much and I'm so beyond happy that we get to spend our lives together. He's welcomed so many new things into my world and helped me discover some of my new passions. He's supportive in every way possible and understanding and patient. I'm a very lucky girl. I've never questioned anything when it comes to him. I feel so at home and comfortable.
All our adventures so far and all the wonderful ones to come, I couldn't be more excited.
We celebrated by going to the restaurant that he took me to for our first date. 1827. Which we've done for the last two anniversaries. We drank and ate delicious food. I got him the best card ever haha and after dinner we walked down to the book store where he bought me two books that I've been looking at the past few times we were in there. We then went home and watched a movie together which I fell asleep half way through haha.

Fish & Oscars
Didn't get up to too much this past weekend.
Ryan and I went fishing on Saturday down to one of our favourite spots. We caught a few cute little trout but not the big steelhead I was hoping for. Hopefully next weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous out though. I was wearing my waders and remember thinking how I wish I was in capri's. Although, the water we had to cross to get to our fishing spot would have been very cold without the waders haha. Once we got back home after fishing we made a yummy lunch and sat at our table to eat and people watch. A lot of strange people come to Fort Langley haha. We then took the dogs for a nice drive into the country and drove to our favourite spot at the top of the hill on Bradner Road to watch some of the sunset. We stopped at the river to let the dogs run before heading home. That night we watched a movie together and then Mark came and joined us and we all hungout for a bit. We all picked a weekend in April to go to Blue Lake. I'm super excited to go back there for a third time! I miss our little cabin <3
Sunday I woke up at 8:30am....it was glorious. I know it may seem early still for some of you, but for me it was sleeping in late and it felt amazing. When I got up I watched some T.V and made a cake for my family for later that evening as it was the OSCARS. My family and I always get together every year to watch them. We all voted separately for all the different categories and my Dad beat us all! I did terrible! Haha
I must say though, the Oscars weren't that great this year! I still had an amazing time laughing with my family and seeing some of my favourite stars but there has definitely been better years in the past. It was amazing seeing Julie Andrews :) Made me super happy. There were also a few fantastic speeches that made me smile. So happy for some of the winners, they deserved it!
Back to Monday YET AGAIN. I don't even know where the time has gone! It's the last week of February already. Spring will be here before we know it.

"I don't do romance"
"It was nice knowing me?"
...Let's just say Fifty Shades was pretty awesome. Haha. Had a fantastic time seeing it with my ladies and loved giggling the whole time haha.
We can't wait for the next 2 movies!! Or 3 if some people's assumptions are correct.
Plus, I'm almost done the third book...Guess I'm gonna just have to re-start the series again ;)

Love Day & the rest
This past weekend was great. I had such a good time.
Friday night was super cool. Ryan and our friend Mark surprised me and his wife, Julie, with taking us to the gun range for Valentines Day! We were SO excited. It ended up being such a cool experience. You had to sit through a 10 minute lesson on gun safety and what not before going in. One of the biggest rules they had was to not put your finger on the trigger until the instructor said it was okay to shoot. So of course when it's Nicole's turn, my finger goes right onto the trigger and the instructor laughed and told me to calm down haha.
Not to sound conceded or anything, but I rocked it! I did SO good. I was very proud of myself. I shot a 9mm and a ....45? I think? I like the 9mm much better because there was less kick and easier to work with. After the gun range, Julie and I headed into Cloverdale to pick up the dogs from my parents house and brought back Timmies to the apartment and we all hungout for a bit and discussed how we want to get our PAL ( I think that's what it's called haha).
Then it was Love Day! I woke up extra early and baked cupcakes and made chocolate covered strawberries and a yummy breakfast. We got ready for the day as we had planned to spend it outdoors fishing or hiking. We decided on a good long hike with our 3 pups! We went to a trail called 'North Matsqui' I believe? It was very nice. Took two hours to finish our walk. We didn't even go the whole way! Got to see some horses pass us on the trail which was cool :)
That night we made a DELICIOUS dinner of Halibut, oven roasted potatoes (made my special way) and salad. My stomach is growling right now just thinking of it. We then had ice cream and watched movies into the night. All in all a great day.
Sunday morning I got up early yet again, did my morning yoga as my body was pretty sore from the days hike before. After breakfast we decided to try our luck for trout and steelhead in the salmon river near Fort Langley. It's a beautiful place to spend an afternoon but it's sadly never that rewarding in terms of fish.
So happy we decided to go. We ended up catching a few beautiful looking cutthroats as well as tons of bites. INCLUDING an awesome fight that a steelhead put up with us. It was the biggest steelhead we had ever seen. It fought so long and hard and unfortunately on it's biggest jump out of the water it got off the line. We tried with all our might, switching up our gear and bait to get it again, but it left us alone. Guess there's a reason he's so big and powerful right? The thrill of fighting him and watching the fight was enough awesomness in itself, but we still wish we could have taken look at the beauty out of the water. Till next time buddy! Haha. While we were fishing we all of a sudden heard barking dogs. Then we saw these two dogs come charging out of one of the fields up on the hill from where we were standing. They ran over to us instantly and we made friends! They stuck around and hungout with us for a bit. It was super cute. Their names were Kona and Rylie. Then their owner called and they went running like a bat outta hell haha.
Later that evening I went to dinner at a delicious restaurant for Tina's birthday. It was nice seeing all her friends again and catching up. It was super awesome that Steve was there as well! I haven't seen that guy in years (literally). We laughed lots and ate great food. A great time!
Today is Monday yet again. Tonight I'm going to see 50 shades of Grey with Tina and Jordan! SO PUMPED! WOOO, lady porn! haha. It's supposed to be lovely weather all week and I hope they're right! Not that we need sunshine to be happy, but it helps! Plus, I need to get out and start wearing my new hiking boots I bought to get my feet used to them and make sure they're the right fit before I do any big hikes. Tina and Britt, we need to get on that! ;) They're beautiful boots. I got them from MEC. The ladies that helped me pick them out were so sweet and helpful. And their return policy is kick ass. I could wear the boots 10 times and walk them through mud and they would still take them back and re-new them for me if they weren't working right. Perks of being a member there I guess? Kinda like costco lol.
Just a couple random pics from this past weekend! :P

Stuck in my head
Been dancing along to this tune lately :)
I may not have that much
But I don’t mind spreading it around.
Everybody chasing something
I don’t know why they’re running
I take my time to the finish line
‘Cause we all end up with nothing.
But I don’t mind spreading it around.
Everybody chasing something
I don’t know why they’re running
I take my time to the finish line
‘Cause we all end up with nothing.
It ain’t about what you’re driving
Or about the gold you’re piling
The less I have to worry about
The more time I got for smiling
Or about the gold you’re piling
The less I have to worry about
The more time I got for smiling
I don’t know why, know why
Everybody wanna die rich
You can’t take it with you when you go
Never seen a hearse with a trailer hitch
Never seen a hearse with a trailer hitch.
Everybody wanna die rich
You can’t take it with you when you go
Never seen a hearse with a trailer hitch
Never seen a hearse with a trailer hitch.

catching up ///
Last week flew by! On Wednesday I hungout with Brittany and Kelsey which was awesome. I got to see Britt's new place which is in White Rock. So cool! You can see the ocean from her deck. Her and her bf also has the cutest bunny! I definitely have a new friend haha. We made pizza for dinner but sadly...burned it. Which resulted in major outbursts of laughter....We still ate it anyway.
This past weekend was fun!
Friday night I hungout with Tina and we did a little shopping and ate popcorn.
Then Saturday morning I did my morning yoga routine and then some cleaning at the apartment while blasting my music. I know it's weird...but I actually enjoy cleaning. After that was all done I went to my parents place and hungout with them for awhile. I then went and picked up Tina and we went back to Fort Langley. Since it wasn't raining we decided to go for a quick walk. I took her to the little trail I know of down on River Rd. in Glenn Valley. We then drove around for a bit looking at the eagles and snooped at Chad Kroegers house haha.
We got back to the apartment and started baking! We made delicious sugar cookies which was my surprise for Ryan since he had been away all week in Chicago for work and was getting back late that night.
After we made the cookies we went for dinner at Beatniks.
We then watched Into the Wild. I think Tina liked it! Such a crazy story that sticks with you.
I then drove Tina home and picked up my puppies that my parents had been sitting so I didn't have to worry about them while we were baking and out to dinner.
I tried to stay awake watching Friends so that I could be up when Ryan arrived. But, for me, any time after 10pm is difficult to stay up haha. I'm such a grandma.
The next day I had to drive into Cloverdale since I was picking up another dog to be dog sat and had to wait for the one I was currently sitting to be picked up. I ended up having to wait till about 4pm which was kind of a bummer as I was hoping to spend a lot of time with Ryan but oh well. Next weekend is a long one so that's good!
We had sushi together and relaxed while watching... Trailer Park boys. Haha, I hate saying(typing) that out loud but...it's funny! Makes me laugh.
Then, I felt like laying down as I was super sleepy but felt like reading. Tina had been talking about the book, 50 shades of grey over the last few days...
So...I downloaded it.
Yup.
Good stuff.
Tina was right, ladyPORN.
Annnnnyway. It's Monday now. Plan to make a yummy dinner tonight as I picked up stuffed mushrooms from an awesome store called Fresh St. Farms. So I'm pretty pumped about that. Confession, I'm also a little excited to get back to my book ;)
