Chicken & Potatoes

This morning was a great morning!

I headed to my parents house to meet my momma and walk with her and Shadow around Cloverdale. After the walk we made brunch that was DELICIOUS. We friend potatoes with onions, green onions, mushrooms and pepper along with fried eggs and toast and tea.

After our bellies were full we headed to Port Kells Nursery and Art Knapps. While at Port Kells Nursery I wandered towards the back and heard them. Chickens. Tons of them. I was in heaven haha. I just sat and watched them for awhile. They were so effing cute and awesome. I can't wait till I have some of my own :)

After the nurseries we drove back and hungout in the backyard doing some gardening before I had to head to work. My garden is coming along and everything is looking happy!

Plus, the sunshine was out and it was glorious. And tomorrow is Friday. I hope the rest of the day is as good as this morning <3

Oh! I forgot to mention, I also got my hair done on Tuesday and I'm in love with it. I need to make sure I actually keep up with the coloring this time. I get so lazy! haha

Fish & Ice Cream

Yesterday was a day for sleeping in and fishing and eating yummy food.
We first went for a drive around glenn valley and took Kobe for a quick walk and then ended up at one of our fishing spots. I caught three different species in the three hours we were there! A cutthroat, a pike minnow, and sunfish. I ended up catching about 5 pikes and 3 sunfish. It was a fun afternoon :)

We then headed home where we made a healthy delicious dinner of Quinoa and fried veggies. Ryan then broke the healthy thing and surprised me with ice cream! Which was also delicious of course haha.

"Are you kidding me?! When does it END?!"

We did it.
We hiked Elk all the way to the second peak.
My legs are still paying me back, two days later.
It just kept going. And going. And going. For 4 1/2 hours. 80% up hill.
But, it felt so awesome to have the feeling of finishing it.
We were a little disappointed to realize that we didn't have a view once we got to the top but we called it a practice run and we will be doing it again on a sunny day!
I just love hiking so much, and hiking with friends is such an amazing thing. I love that my friends love the outdoors just as much as I do and have so much respect for it. I can't wait for our adventures to come :)

Cesears and Log Books

Yesterday was a nice relaxed day for the most part.
Ryan and I slept in pretty late. So late that by the time we were both up and moving it was almost lunch time. So we just decided to go grab some food from the pub. It was the May Day parade in Fort Langley and the whole place just goes NUTS. So we went for lunch at a great time because the parade was going so everyone was out on the streets while we had the whole pub to ourselves. We chose a spot outside on the patio where we had a pretty nice view of the parade. We hadn't been to the pub in a long time and the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered too many ceasars and had a delicious salmon burger.

After lunch we went back home and took a nap. After we woke up we decided to go to my parents house to hangout with them and let the dogs play. We ended up working on the garden and getting all the veggies planted! I'm so excited for fresh homegrown veggies!!

Later on it was time to pick up my Grandma and take her out for a belated birthday dinner. We went to Choo Choo's in downtown Langley and she LOVED it. Which shocked me because it's hard to please my grandmother sometimes :P

Today is Tuesday! Woo! Short week!

Christina surprised me with our Hiking Log Book that came in the mail! I'm so pumped to get it all filled out!! There are all these cute little quotes throughout along with pretty pictures. The intro stood out the most for me :)

My home away from home. I already miss it terribly - -

Christina Lake,
What can I say? It was amazing as always. It still looks the same as it did when I was 10 years old and traveling up there with my mom and dad and brother.
It was so wonderful seeing my aunt and uncle and getting to visit with them. Their house is so beautiful. If I ever have a house I would want it to look exactly like theirs.
Ryan and I spent most of Saturday out on the lake in a fishing boat we rented. We fished and sped all over the water just goofing around and enjoying the gorgeous weather. I caught a couple kokanee and 1 beautiful big trout. I let the trout and 1 kokanee go but kept the bigger of the two. My aunt cooked it up for dinner that night and it was delicious.
Later that evening we went for a walk around the neighborhood and we discovered some nice beach areas that I never knew were there before! Which was cool :) We also drove around a little to check out some of the houses.

After dinner we walked down to the beach and did some fishing. I caught a couple beautiful sunfish which was a lot of fun.
The next morning we had brunch together and then packed the car for our long ride home. My aunt was so cute and made me take so many things that she thought I would like for our apartment. I got some cute chicken plates and a beautiful picture of a mountain lion and Ryan got this awesome liquor bottle that looks like a horse in armor. There were some other little nik naks as well.
We stopped at Cascade Falls on the way and did the hike to the top of the waterfall. There was some awesome look out spots where you could see such different views of the falls.

We then started our long trek home. We made a couple stops to try a little fishing including Bromley Rock, one of my favourites, and caught some cute little brook trout.
We also stopped in Osoyoos for lunch. We decided on a cool looking pub called 'The Owl'? ... I think? haha. SO glad we did. It was delicious!! I highly recommend it to anyone going there.

Can't wait till our next trip to go see them!! <333333333
