Another Halloween has come and gone. It was a pretty good one.
Ryan and I spent most of it at my parents house playing
charades and eating yummy food and giving out candy to the 12 kids that
came to the door haha.
I dressed the dogs up for a little bit as well which gave us all some good laughs.
The next morning my mom and I got up early to go shopping. Walmart had 75% off of their halloween decorations! Let's just say...wherever I'm living next year, my place will look fabulous. So many good deals it was hard to say no!
Then my mom and I went for a walk through Tynehead with the boys. We picked a perfect time as it was not raining and was just beautiful for a walk.
I just love being in the forest.
I finally went back to the apartment and hungout with the boyfriend. We made cupcakes and got ready for our friend Brandyn's halloween party.
We were a little nervous about going as we didn't really know many people but it ended up being a great time!
We got to see people that we used to work with and chat with them for a bit and I even got to see my old friends Lindsey and Stephanie! We chatted for almost 2 hours and laughed our asses off. It felt just like the old days. I miss working with Lindsey terribly. She was the funniest person I know. So happy to know she is doing well :)
The costumes were pretty awesome, there were a lot of zombies, an astronaut, ace ventura, and our friend Brandyn made his own costume and he was Towely (Is that how you spell it? haha) from South Park. Made me laugh, he's an hilarious guy and so nice. I miss working with him to.
We left the party at about 1am and pretty much went straight to bed.
Then Sunday was my Mom's birthday. I woke up extra early and went home to have breakfast with her. We then headed back to Fort Langley where we met up with Ryan and told her that we were taking her out fishing in Mission.
The rain held off the entire time we were out! I was so happy about it because I heard it wasn't supposed to be very nice out. We walked around the Hatchery for a bit before heading up the trail to the fishing spot.
It was just gorgeous up there. All the leaves had turned orange and red and with the dark mountains behind them and the river flowing from it. Just made me happy. I am so lucky that I get to spend so much time amongst nature. I can just feel my entire body and brain being brought back to peace and renewing itself each time.
We caught a couple fish but sadly no coho to take home. My mom had a great time and even started to cast better than me!
We packed up around 3pm and headed home.
My mom helped me prep dinner which was my famous Quesadillas and homemade salsa.
After dinner I went out to my car and brought in the surprise. An amazingly done cake by my boss's wife, Karen. She did a garden themed cake and it turned out brilliantly. This woman is an artist. I couldn't be happier with it.
All in all, I'm just so happy my mom had a good day. The goal was to make her smile the entire time and I think I did a pretty good job :)
Now, it's Monday yet again. I'm hoping that this week goes by fast so that I can have my Saturday. I'm not sure what the plan is yet, but I'm leaning towards making it a 'me' day. I think I need a day to just lay on the couch and watch Netflix. We shall see what happens!
Till next time Blog
:)
