Vegas was amazing.
The plane ride - such a rush. And I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. I did feel a lot of emotions when it began to speed up to take off. What an incredible feeling. I want to keep going on plane rides to so many places!
Anyway, we arrive and finally figure out how to find our shuttle that will take us to the hotel. The guy driving it was so funny! We really liked him.
We went out exploring for a bit and grabbed an early dinner at a restaurant in our hotel. The best pad thai I've ever had.
That night we saw 'O' by cirque du solei. OH MY GAWD. I've never witnessed anything so magical in my entire life. I think my mouth was open and my eyes wide the entire show. It was just so phenomenal. I enjoyed each and every minute. I hope to see it again sometime.
The second day we explored a little more. We decided to make that the day we went to Madame Tussauds wax museum. I had such a blast. It was so weird to see the wax figures though. Some looked so real that it felt odd staring at them too long haha.
We then went to Fat Tuesdays. Fat. Tuesdays. If you ever go to Vegas, I highly recommend you try it, But - just make sure your with a friend and within good walking distance of your hotel so you can go back there to pass out from being so drunk hahaha.
We had lunch at Serendipity - which, I'm pretty sure was really tasty, it was right after Fat Tuesdays so I don't remember much of the details haha.
We then went over to Mandalay Bay to go to the Shark Reef which was pretty neat. We got to pet some fishies and view some of the coolest fish while walking through a tunnel in the tank! Such a cool feeling to be standing there and have a shark swim over top of you.
THEN - it was time for Thunder From Down Under. We ended up making friends with this adorable girl that sat beside us who got separated from her aunt because they bought the tickets so late. Ladies - You have to see this show at least once in your lifetime. I've never screamed so much haha. Plus I got my booty smacked so that was neat.
The next day was the road trip to the Grand Canyon in the MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE. (thank you tina for driving <3)
Arizona was pretty cool. I liked seeing all the tumbleweeds. The Grand Canyon was beautiful. I don't think I could sit here and type my exact emotions and thoughts of the entire thing because I was pretty much speechless the entire time. It was hard to take in just how magnificent the whole thing was. We got some great photos which I'm super happy about.
On the way out of the park we got a little turned around. (Don't always listen to your GPS - It doesn't always know what it's talking about haha) Getting lost was pretty special though, because we actually came upon a big herd of Elk.
We got back a little after dinner time and grabbed food at Hard Rock Cafe. So tasty.
The next day was our last full day with no big plans. So we just took advantage of that to look around at everything we hadn't seen yet and just took in whatever else of Vegas we could. We watched the the show at the Bellagio Fountains - where we saw Pitbull and Robin Thicke filming a music video! - and then went on to Freemont Street. We had lunch at Gordon Ramseys' restaurant and some tasty gelato in Cesears Palace.
The shuttle driver on our way to the airport to go home was just as nice and funny as the first guy. We rode with this sweet older couple from Seattle as well. We were all chatting and laughing the whole way there. We even ran into the older couple while in the airport.
I had the most wonderful time in Vegas and the best part was that it was shared with my best friend. We talked after about how well we travel together. We always seem to be on the same page - and on the small chance that we're not, we're incredibly well at picking that up and adjusting ourselves to better suit the other person. I couldn't think of a better person to want to travel with. Thanks Tina for helping make my first big adventure so wonderful.
London 2017 - here we come!!
